This year’s winner of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigations (IAATI) for Insurance Investigation was Mike McKee of NKG. Andrew Simpson Polonious Business Development Manager filled in for Polonious Co Founder Alastair Steel to present the award to Mike at the awards dinner.
Polonious have sponsored this award for the past two years.
This was the 23rd gathering of the Australian Branch of IAATI Annual Training Seminar. President John Hambridge was thrilled with the 900 delegates who travelled to the Perth Crown Hotel. President Hambridge explained “the Australian Branch has a tradition of recognizing the delegate who has travelled the longest distance to attend the training seminar which this year was won “hands down” by International IAATI President Heidi Jordan.” Heidi’s 30 hour epic journey from New Hampshire, USA which included the loss of all her luggage certainly deserved the hearty applause from the delegates.
The quality of this year’s presentations was up to IAATI usual high standards. With the Police actual “Aladdin’s’ Cave” operations proving most popular. Some of the presentation can be found by clicking here.
Networking, as always with IAATI conferences was a highlight. As was the release of the IAATI conference app providing delegates with all the conference details via their choice of smart device.
Every delegate was delighted with the high level of service and catering the Perth Crown provided. The hearty, old fashioned mini beef burgers were a big hit at the registration gathering. However, buffet lunch at the Atrium was outstanding leaving delegates stumped for choice.
Lunch on Tuesday was attended by West Australian Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan who accepted a cheque for $2,000 from President Hambridge on behalf of the delegates. The money was raised by a monster raffle held at the Awards dinner. Commissioner O’Callaghan addressed the delegates thanking them for their generosity and outlining the work the funds would be used for via the charity “Bright Blue” helping sick kids.
The next Annual Australasian Seminar will be held in Melbourne in March/Arpil 2016.
The 2015 International IAATI Seminar in Phoenix, Arizona 9 -14 August. For more information about the 2015 International IAATI Seminar please visit: www.iaati.org
