Can your business leverage open source?

At Polonious Consulting Group, we deliver effective IT implementations in Australia. A lot of this success is due to our use of Open Source technologies.

Like the companies in this image, we’ve learned over the years that it’s better to build on the shoulders of giants.

Our customers have benefited to the total tune of  $2,200,000 / year in license cost savings thanks to our designs. This averages about $50K per customer per annum. Read here for more information.

We have a vast armoury of open source libraries and products we are familiar with, can support and integrate with each other. These ‘building blocks’ are integrated together to produce and effective business solution for our customers.  It’s a potent combination of expertise and rich excellent base components.

Here are some other examples of potential projects and savings:

  • Implementation of a full claims and policy system based on open source components. Customer able to deliver industry best service to health members with 2.5 x less staff resulting is many millions of dollars saved per annum. You can read all about in at the BPM Awards site here.

  • Implementation of an open source mail system (Zimbra) for several client similar to Exchange results in extremely low spam count, zero license costs and an approximate saving of $65,000 per annum. This solution has become so effective, we’ve packaged up a SAAS offering for you here.

  • Delivery and support of a linux desktop solution for 35 users. This results in zero viruses, almost zero support and extremely low cost of operations. Comparatively it’s around $500 / user / year cheaper than the equivalent Microsoft PC support. Additionally, the user downtime is 95% lower. Overall saving is $17,500 / year just in desktops.

Our engagement model is:

  1. We visit, talk and go through what we think we can do to help. This visit and the proposal that follow are complimentary.
  2. We produce a detailed proposal of the areas you have highlighted and provide some additional areas we can see obvious ‘low hanging fruit’ savings for your business.
  3. If you decide to engage, we partner to move your organisation to the next level.

We are interested in long term engagements that include a support component to ensure the viability of our customer’s solutions. These solutions tend to provide a robust, cost effective path forward and lead to other engagements with equally satisfying outcomes.

If you are interested in engaging with Polonious, please contact us, we will arrange an appointment we can see if the relationship will work for both parties.
